did my first iui 3 days ago! I also had a peak opk test the night before my ultrasound/trigger day. I had 3 follicles that grew! 18, 15, and 13. They told me to trigger that night then IUI after 36 from it. (2 1/2 days from the peak test). I also had cramping and sharp pains after the trigger and before the iui. My lining was 12mm and my hubbys SA was "excellent." Hoping this is it! 11 more days to go

It doesn’t matter how many kids you have. What matters is environment and genetics. There is absolutely ZERO scientific data to support that kids with siblings are less selfish, more socially adapted, and maintain positive relationships into their adulthood. There is also no data to support that only-children are selfish, awkward and lonely. There IS, however, scientific data to support that if a child (with or without siblings) grows up in a stable and safe environment with two or more consistent and loving adults, that child will be better adapted both emotionally and academically (depending, of course, on genetics as well).

to your point on only kids being seen as selfish and spoilt, I can honestly say that I feel it depends on your parenting style and child's nature of whether they are 'spolied' or selfish. Coming from a family of 3 kids, you would think we all shared generously, but guess what -thats totally wrong, youngest of our family hated sharing anything and even to this day into adulthood wants everything brand new..lol

My boyfriend and I will be doing our first IUI this month. After 3 failed medicated cycles. We have to travel 2 hours for the procedure because it isn’t funded in our local town right now. Fingers crossed it works because this stuff is no fun.

Thanks for posting. My wife and I waited 10 years after we were married to have our first and only child. Yes, we tried to have more than 1 but there were fertility issues that limited our family size to just one. Some positive things about having only one child: 1 - We are able to give our child things that we did not have when we were growing up. For example, we were able to send our daughter to private music lessons. As a result, our daughter has played piano since age 4 and it is such a joy to hear her play. 2 - We were able to send our child to a private school. 3 - We have been told that our daughter is more mature than other kids her age. I suppose the reason is that my wife and I have never treated our daughter like a child. Ever since she was an infant, we talked to her as if she were an adult. Adults have remarked that our daughter seems very "grown-up" and mature for her age. 4 - We are able to go on vacations together. I feel that if we had had more children, we would have had to limit the spending on our trips. Further, when my wife and I were kids, our parents could not go on many trips (I had 3 siblings and my wife had 9 siblings). Thanks again.

Imma G and this procedure had me sweating and i shed a tear..i def said ouch a few times as well..i felt pain and burning. I guess it depends on the doctor 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Having 1 child family is the best! Me and my wife have a daughter and straight away we realised that having more was not going to work for us. We want to focus all our love to the kid as well as to each other as we are married and still need time to love each other. 1 and done families are extreme love filled homes and if you add a puppy well come on you reach heaven!!

Thank your for sharing your thoughts. I think it is great to let parents know it is okay to choose what kind of family works for them and that it is okay to have only one child.

I was an only child and always wanted a sibling. As an adult, it is lonely. Both my parents are gone and I have no sibling and my child has no cousins or aunts or uncles. The positive is I am very independent and self sufficient and can entertain myself no problem. It is just hard when difficult life things happen and there is no family support. I have no aunts or uncles, and my husband had no family around either. Tough.

I'm a 40 plus only child and I must say my parents did such a great job. I never remember longing for siblings because I was always so busy and imaginative. I never got bored because of it. As a result, that creative brain helped me build a successful online business in my 20s. I had a bestie that lived across the street so she was like a sibling to me. My situation was really unique because I didn't have cousins my age either. Most were 15-20 yrs older. I think the key is to make sure your kid has activities so they can socialize with peers. People used to comment how well I adjusted and I think it's because I was always in activities. I never remember feeling lonely. I think the biggest tell that I am an only is I did like being around adults and sometimes would rather be with them than my peers. LOL Sharing also took me some time to grasp but going away to college with roommates helped. I also still like my space as an adult. I love my me time, but I always adjusted pretty well around others. I think my mom felt giulty because she wanted 2 more (fertility issues) but they did a great job. Don't let anyone guilt you. Just make sure your child has playmates and keep the lines of communication open.

I’m young , fit, healthy and financially sound. I don’t work and my husband went well. I have house help too. Yet I choose one. I don’t want another for no reason. I’m already happy and we feel so complete. Having child 2 just for the sake of giving playmate but no love or yearning which I had for my first born is selfish. Having single child is very tough. You have to play like sibling at this age. Be there for the child all the time. Having two is easy in the longer run that’s why people have two. But pls have only one if you want to. Selfish ness is in the mind not in actions. People with two children I knew had second one just because what if something bad hope s to first. The other child is not an assurance as playmate or compensator. Bring in another life if we could wholeheartedly or don’t . So , I chose one and I’m done.

You are removing the stem the hard way: Just grab the hard end of the stem and with your other hand, strip the leaves straight down off the stem. Voila!

It is sad that you cant even fully trust a doctor... always need to do your own research, demand things etc...
